Born and raised in Central California, James is passionate about improving his community and taking on projects that do just that.?His work as segment manager on the Merced to Madera (M2M) segment of the California High-Speed Rail (HSR) reflects that commitment, helping to bring transformative infrastructure to the region he calls home.
James has developed five tracking systems still in use today and an HSR roadmap detailing interdisciplinary coordination. He is known for his detail-oriented approach and deep understanding of how all project components interface within a complete system.
Playing a key role in cross-functional coordination, James has collaborated with civil, track, grading, constructability, earthworks, utilities, CADD, risk management, climate, sustainability, and hydraulic and hydrologic teams to streamline processes and support seamless integration across disciplines. During onboarding of more than 20 subconsultant team members on the M2M segment, he guided designers through plan preparation and workflows, offering feedback to support quality and consistency.
