Inspired by a lifelong love of nature and family trips to national parks, Helen pursued a degree in geography to explore why things are where they are—from large scale patterns of how we interact with our environment to small-scale ones like where does a certain species of bird nest and why.
A geographic information systems (GIS) analyst, Helen has nearly 15 years of experience supporting a wide range of projects. These include city planning initiatives, conservation easement dedication, wind farm impact studies, cell tower routing, and cultural resource surveys. Her expertise includes spatial data generation and analysis, environmental constraints data gathering, and the design and production of cartographic maps and digital mapping applications.
When she’s off the clock, Helen enjoys being outdoors with her husband and young child—birdwatching, tending to her pollinator-friendly garden, and simply soaking in the natural world.
