Ian is passionate about delivering sustainable and innovative monitoring solutions. He’s particularly focused on integrating low-cost sensor technology into monitoring campaigns, enabling detailed, data-driven insights that help shape effective outcomes for communities. Ian’s diverse project portfolio includes the provision of noise, vibration, and air quality technical services for major infrastructure programmes such as HS2, Crossrail, and the Ministry of Defence. He’s also designed, deployed, and operated large-scale monitoring networks for local authorities, managed music monitoring at large outdoor events (including Glastonbury Festival), and delivered occupational noise monitoring for clients like the BBC.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Ian enjoys camping, sailing, fishing, hiking, and attending music festivals—often combining his personal passions with his professional interest in sound and the environment.
